The Set Director with the feather boa in the film room

The other day my friend's Youth Group had a Murder Mystery Party.  Old Hollywood Style!  And she invited me, or rather I invited myself, and we had a lot of fun getting dressed up for it.  I wasn't completely happy with my outfit/makeup/hair, but still, it was fun.  I love this dress that use to be my grandmother's.  It seemed to fit so perfectly for this type of thing.  And the jewelry is mostly vintage costume jewelry.
For hair, I had just gone swimming, and let my hair dry in a towel, so it wasn't at it's best, so I just pinned back my bangs with a rhinestone clippy.
For makeup of course, I just wanted to go dramatic, and went with a black cat-eye, and a red lip, but in this picture, my red lip wore off, it was after dinner.  oops.
Close-up for the cat-eye.  My method for cat-eye is like most, I'm sure.  I start in the inside corner with liquid liner and line to the center, then the outside corner to the middle.  Then I make a point where I want my wing to end, and line it down to the corner of my eye.  Then I sort of fill in the triangle there, from point, to corner, to farther in towards the middle of the eye to have a gradual angle, not a super sharp one.  I hope that made some sense.  If anyone would like, I could do a how-to post, I have a lot of practice with cat-eyes.
Though my face looks a little silly with the somewhat fish-eye angle here, this is one of the only close ups I got.

I love dressing up, and especially coming up with a costume and character for these types of things (I love Halloween!).  So it was an enjoyable night.  And in case you didn't understand the title, my team of detectives won, we figured out the murderer, and won Starbucks cards to prove it.
